How the app works
HueGallery organizes the photos accessible on your device by their dominant color. To do this, it needs Android's permission to access the images in your library. You can grant full access or, on compatible systems, limit it to selected photos.
The app does not request access to videos.
Data used on the device
HueGallery may locally access:
- photos you've authorized;
- MediaStore identifiers and URIs;
- the file name and its album or folder;
- the date taken, date modified, and file size;
- dominant color, hue, saturation, and lightness computed by the app;
- your preferences for included or excluded albums.
This data is used solely to display, sort, filter, and update your color gallery.
Collection, transmission, and sharing
HueGallery never sends photos, thumbnails, metadata, or color results outside your device. It has no servers, no user accounts, no advertising tools, and no remote analytics.
Data is never sold or shared with the developer or any third party.
When you use the share command, Android shows the system chooser and transfers the photo only to the app you select. This action is initiated and controlled directly by you.
Retention and deletion
Original files are never copied or modified by HueGallery.
The color index and preferences remain in the app's private storage until:
- a photo is deleted or is no longer accessible;
- the app updates its local index;
- you clear HueGallery's data from Android settings;
- the app is uninstalled.
Clearing the app's data or uninstalling it removes the local database and preferences without deleting the original photos.
Security
Analysis results are stored in the private storage area Android assigns to the app. HueGallery does not declare the Internet permission and prevents Android backup of its own app data.
Children
HueGallery does not build profiles, does not show ads, and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. Access to photos remains subject to your device's own permissions and controls.
Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated if the app's features, the data it uses, or the services it integrates with change. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this document.
